The PromoShoot & BTS

Miss Universe Canada delegate Erin Chapman and I go WAY back, I'm talking purple hair (not me...I wish though) and first collection (I was a mess) back. Needless to say; she asked me to be a part of her upcoming campaign I agreed in a heartbeat.

This past weekend Erin organized a FABULOUS Luncheon where three local designers (Emina Fae, Avenir and myself) showed pieces from our upcoming collections in support of Erin's chosen charity: Operation Smile.

Backstage of a show is always fun. You have models getting their hair and makeup done (by Radiant Raadhaa) taking selfies, way too well. I always look ridiculous in selfies. Designers running around herding their models to where they need to be.

There are always a few types of designers back stage of a show:

The OverPlanner: The one who is super organized and knows EXACTLY what she wants...and how she wants it.

The Chill One: The one who knows nothing is going to go as plan so they go with the flow.

The Super Chill: Picture the Chill, but X10

The Queen of Procrastination: The one who is still sewing clothes, or models into clothing, seconds before they go out.

Lucky for us all the designers got along and it was a smooth ride throughout the show. It does help to have a kick a*s model team though! They calm us down and know what they're doing and where to be.

As part of the promotion for this event we took some photos on Parliament Hill with three local influencers and Erin herself. Here are a few pics from that shoot.

Here are some legit behind the scenes pics, taken with my Iphone so please don't judge photo quality....or just general photography skills. I have none. I know it.

This whole experience has been such a ride and we've had so much fun! The final goal is to raise money for a great cause. Here's a link to Operation Smile for more information!
